General Job Description:
We require a talented individual to join our Product Development Team and take on the role of Capping and Filling line Specialist in support of the HyCap system.
The Capping and Filling line Specialist works within the Development Engineering - Closures team and is responsible for providing technical support for existing and new Capping and Filling lines. The main focus will be the start up and support of conversions

Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
· Identifying potential issues with implementing new closure / preform designs
· Increase body of knowledge of closure design
· Indentifying required needs and feed the gained knowledge back into Development engineering
· Analysing Capping and Filling equipment and part design and suggest improvements and determine root cause.
· Create design standards and have deep knowledge of company's products, tools, standards, and technology
· Maintain thorough documentation on all aspects of assigned projects
· Provide technical support for closure trials and startups on new or existing capping lines of various makers
· Adjust handling and application systems (e.g. chutes, chucks, cams)
· Troubleshoot application issues (e.g. cocked or high caps)

Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Knowledge of the injectability of plastic closures / Processing knowledge
· Basic knowledge of the individual functions of a plastic closure (sealing, torque requirements, threads, tamper evidence, )
· Basic knowledge of the neck finishes of PET preforms/bottles
· Strong project, organization and time management skills
· Illustrates attention to detail when completing tasks and embraces changing priorities
· Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
· Proven ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems with innovative solutions
· Skilled in applying industry generic or company's specific codes and standards
· Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
· Basic system knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, control systems and mechanical components
· Basic understanding of part testing techniques (e.g. SST, drop test, elevated temperature test, carbonation ret ention)

Education:
· Post-secondary education (Bachelor's in engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
Related Experience:
· 2-5 years in Capping and Filling line installation and operation
· 1-2 years experience in application of closures
