Job Purpose:
Provide primary technical oversight and direction for the maintenance and show quality of SHDR Horticulture and Landscaping. Provide leadership to approximately 20 - 30 maintenance workers performing regular maintenance activities throughout the resort. Support recruitment efforts, interview and hire front line maintenance workers in the areas of landscaping, horticulture, irrigation, arboriculture and pest control. Assist in the identification, procurement and set up of support tools, equipment and supplies. Work closely with the project development team to support planting efforts for both training and quality control. Establish work schedules, shift assignment and work prioritization. Develop a high level of teamwork and cooperation while managing safety, regulatory compliance and productivity.


Job Responsibility (including but not limited to):

? Participate in quality acceptance and turnover of landscaped areas throughout the Resort areas.
? Support the develop operation guideline & SOP for the various Horticulture Team front line positions.
? Assist in the creation and adherence to the departmental Annual Operating Plan (budget).
? Participate in the recruitment, hiring and training of maintenance staff.
? Support training activities for front line maintenance staff.
? Provide direct supervision of front line maintenance staff while executing pre-opening setup activities and ongoing maintenance work;
? Support the management of outsourced services providing maintenance support to the Horticulture Team.
? Complete other assignments as deemed appropriate by the Team Manager.

Education:
? Bachelor’s degree in a Landscaping/Horticulture related field.

Knowledge and Experience:
? More than 5 years of experience managing/supervising Landscaping and Horticulture maintenance work.
? Solid experience in Landscaping/Horticulture maintenance practices.
? Working knowledge of tree maintenance (Arboriculture), automatic irrigation systems and pest management.
? Keep up to date on the latest Landscaping/Horticulture technologies.
? Experience working on large scale Landscaping projects.

Abilities and Behaviors:
? Demonstrated problem solving skills, as well as continuous improvement process skills.
? Ability to read irrigation drawings and schematics.
? Ability to use and train in the use of typical tools and equipment used in Landscape/Horticulture maintenance activities.
? Able to develop management reports, accurately report information, and deliver projects on time.
? Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
? Ability to interact with various levels within the company. (Front Line Maintenance Staff, Support Staff, Managers, Engineers, etc.)
? Familiar with the relevant laws, regulations and industry standards for horticulture, landscaping, and pest management.
? Available to work Sunday through Saturday, all shifts (i.e., 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) as deemed required by management.
? Available to work on holidays
