职位描述

Division: Industry Research Team
Location: Shanghai
Job Title: Industry Research Manager

Mission:

1. Lead industry research team to provide insights and analysis across multiple FMCG categories, complete various industry research reports for China’s consumer product markets. The reports need to be accurate, thorough, and actionable.

2. The primary function of the industry team manager role is to successfully execute the strategic/research objectives. The industry research manager role is central to the running and further growth of Sinolytics’ ad hoc research capacity. Industry research manager must be self-starting, autonomous individuals willing and able to take on full responsibility for delivering projects to full satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Initiate project planning including development of briefs, templates and other supporting materials necessary to meet all project objectives
2. Oversee and be responsible for on-going custom research work for projects
3. Design expert interview questionnaires, conduct primary interviews with trade associations, leading companies and internal associates to gain insights into specific custom research objectives.
4. Conduct desk research, utilize in house resources and external published information to understand the market and companies under review.
5. Validating market data, including integrity of company and brand information. Lead market data analysis
6. Generate high quality and insightful company/industry reports and/or management summaries reports.
7. A full review of all generated materials via querying, validation and final interpretation of data and analysis to fully meet research objectives.
8. Occasional business travel if required

Desired skills and experience:

1. Proven research track record, highly developed research skills and knowledge of desk research and sources, trade interviewing and a solid understanding of and/or experience in strategy and competitive analysis. At least 4 years’ relevant experience preferred
2. Strategic reports writing skills
3. Solid understanding on FMCG market in China
4. Experience managing or leading market research teams beneficial with hands-on management skills
5. Ability to formulate appropriate research solutions and manage complex ad hoc research projects to a successful outcome
6. Effective written & verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese
7. Quantitative analysts skills and ability to analyze multiple sets of data
8. Attention to detail
9. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
