SSD FW Architect (Client)

Micron Technology’s Advanced Controller Group is focused on developing leading-edge memory controller and System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, incorporating advanced HW and FW to enable Micron’s SSD and mobile NAND product roadmap.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

In this role you will be responsible for working with system, hardware and other firmware architects to define, design and help lead implement the firmware stack for new ranges of Micron developed SSD controllers. This will be designed to be optimized with the latest high efficiency NAND flash and other future solid state memory and optimized for the client marketplace in terms of power, reliability, cost and performance.

You will also have the opportunity to work with, and as part of, other teams designing controller architectures for other business segments from mobile to enterprise and to manage other forms of volatile and non-volatile memory.

This is a key role in advancing our overall business with wide ranging impact across our organization and company.

Experience:

· Experience in firmware architecture

· Experience of the storage industry, in SSD, HDD, storage systems or a related technology

· Understanding of storage interfaces including ideally PCIe/NVMe, AHCI, SATA, SAS, UFS, eMMC

Experience with advanced NAND flash and other non-volatile storage

· In depth experience of software and firmware development methodologies

· Practical experience in the project management of firmware and software

· Knowledge of current state of the art development tools and their real world application

· Experience of working in a sophisticated technology company

Education:

· BSEE or equivalent required
