Micron Technology’s Advanced Controller Group is focused on developing leading-edge memory controller and System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, incorporating advanced HW and FW to enable Micron’s SSD and mobile NAND product roadmap.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

In this role you will be responsible for leading off-shore firmware architecture team that are responsible for various market segment products. You will be working with system and hardware architecture teams to define, design and lead implement the firmware stack for new ranges of Micron developed SSD controllers. This will be designed to be optimized with the latest high efficiency NAND flash and other future solid state memory and optimized for the client marketplace in terms of power, reliability, cost and performance.

You will be mentoring firmware architects in quality, scalability and robustness of the firmware design and, in turn, guide the development to produce the best-in-class products. You will also have the opportunity to work with, and as part of, other teams designing controller architectures for other business segments from mobile to enterprise and to manage other forms of volatile and non-volatile memory.

This is a key role in advancing our overall business with wide ranging impact across our organization and company.

Experience:

Experience in leading firmware architecture group and managing multiple product lines concurrently
Experience of the storage industry, in SSD, HDD, storage systems or a related technology
Understanding of storage interfaces including ideally PCIe/NVMe, AHCI, SATA, SAS, UFS, eMMC
Experience with advanced NAND flash and other non-volatile storage
In depth experience of software and firmware development methodologies
Practical experience in the project management of firmware and software
Knowledge of current state of the art development tools and their real world application
Experience of working in a sophisticated technology company

Education:

MSEE or equivalent required
PhD desired
