Role Summary/Purpose

This function supports our aircraft engine and systems product lines and with a shift team in the GE Aviation Fleet Support Shanghai. The Analytics Engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. Essential Responsibilities

The Analytics Engineer develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

- Serve as the 2nd level support function in the global technical support team
- Provide technical support to the local field engineers in high-level cases (via phone and also at site)
- Close cooperation with the 1st level of the support function to identify failure trends in an early phase and to initiate corrective actions
- Technical supervision for retrofits and validation of performance increase
- Assist the functional technical support and product service engineering groups
- Field test of prototype retrofits and verification if the technical documentation fulfills the local needs and initiate updates with engineering
- Lead efforts to define and implement new system alert functionality and analytics working with the GE Aviation Diagnostics team, airline customers, and engine product experts
- Provide leadership to personnel supporting diagnostics operations
- Provide timely communication on significant issues or developments
- Identify plans to ensure technical requirements, costs, and schedules are met
- Interface with external organizations and supporting functions, and directs / coordinates the efforts of project team members in order to accomplish overall goals
- Collaborate with management in setting realistic and challenge goals
- Assist the staff contributor or manager in planning work activity for the organization
- Participate on assigned teams to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in program reviews and technical presentations

Qualifications/Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering position)
- Minimum of 3 years of Aircraft Engine performance, Engine Test, or Diagnostics experience
- Must be fluent in Chinese and English
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Excel and Powerpoint
- Must be highly motivated, self-directed individual with a strong work ethic and proven abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to establish productive working relationships in a cross-functional team environment
- Proven written and verbal communication skills

Desired Characteristics

- Additional experience in an electrical or mechanical industrial apprenticeship is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred
- Ability to make quick decisions in order to adapt to any situation
- Quality awareness and ability to identify future failures, defects, and problems
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated initiative to stay abreast of technology advancements
