This role manages products that we have produced in China factories, to meet the quality and safety expectations of customers as well as requirements of the CPSIA and Prop 65. The candidate for this role will partner with independent testing partners to ensure compliance with CPSIA, Prop 65 and applicable safety requirements. This role coordinates all testing protocols during the production process inline and again at the end before any product is shipped. Protocols include the regulatory requirements for main product categories such as; apparel, bags, drink ware and children’s products to name a few. Standards that this role will routinely conduct testing for include: 16 CFR 1303 lead in surface coatings, FDA, BPA screening, Toxics in Packaging materials, fiber analysis, CA Prop 65 case evaluation, CPSIA lead in surface coatings and substrates, CPSIA phthalates, CPSIA physical/mechanical tests 16 CFR 1500501, flammability of solids and apparel, ASTM F96311 for toys. In addition to establishing protocols and SOP’s; this role communicates with sales reps and lab partners to outline the scope of testing, setting realistic timelines on testing and building partnership relationships with the sales and lab partners. This role is to provide a solid knowledge base to our sales and production staffs, for them work with their client(s) to determine the best route to go given the data. Also this role serves to be the sounding board when products cannot move forward in the production or shipping process. The ability to communicate efficiently and effectively is extremely important.

Duties are:
· Create testing protocol and follow through with each project to ensure each product meets required standards
· Follow through with test failures and make recommendations for corrective actions
· Keep records of test results for future communication
· Work with quality assurance team to request factory audits within a reasonable budget
· Keep up to date on testing and compliance changes in the industry
· Educate sales and production teams of important issues and changes to testing and compliance in the industry
· Participate in educating clients in the testing and compliance area
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10 years of compliance/product safety experience.
Previous working knowledge of testing regulations mentioned above.
