Merchandiser

Intro:
We are a UK based importer and distributor who are rapidly expanding with over 20 years of experience sourcing in China, with over 5,000 employees globally.

We supply high volume products to the discount sector in Europe with a Buying & Sourcing office in XuHui District, Shanghai and are looking for 4 Merchandisers’ to join our team on a full time basis.

We are offering a generous and competitive salary for suitable applicants based upon aptitude.

Job Description:
?On the job training provided on customised management system, reporting directly to the Merchandising Manager
?Dealing directly with suppliers negotiating payment terms and prices for all types of products ranging from textiles to housewares, electronics and toys
?Liaising with buyers
?Maintaining and updating product specifications
?Accompanying buyers on any exhibition trips and meetings with suppliers as required by senior management team

Person Specification:
?Minimum 2 years’ experience in related role is required
?Ability to source new products and anticipate future buying trends in the European market is a bonus
?Responsible – Have a very strong sense of duty and accountability
?Excellent negotiation and follow-up skills
?Ability to work under pressure and to meet vital deadlines
?Willing to work occasional late evenings
?Self-motivated and highly energetic
?Excellent computer proficiency
?Excellent (not ‘very good’) English and Chinese skills (oral, reading and writing)
