JOB DESCRIPTION

An application support specialist will work in Intertek's Group IT department to help end users with the operation and functionality of custom web applications. The specialist may work with individual end users or corporate accounts majorly through support emails and phone calls.

- Manage application incident support queues for problem resolution; ensuring adherence to SLAs and timely resolution of incidents.
- Provides responsive and competent technical support to customers in the areas of software and custom application features, installation and use.
- Effectively communicate with business stakeholders and users of status of current issues, resolutions and any trending identified.
- Perform analysis and troubleshooting for reported incidents prior to escalation to development or other IT resources.
- Compile data and prepare reports setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations based on information gathered.
- May be required to conduct end-user training for custom applications in both a classroom and web environment.


Job Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Accurately comprehending, executing and responding to user requests are of the upmost importance.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or higher preferred in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or similar fields.
- 2 years of helpdesk/website support; including Working knowledge of MS Windows, MS SQL, TCP/IP and Networking is preferred.
- Evidence of essential analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to resolve routine questions and problems with minimal direction; appropriate judgment on what to escalate; ability to manage several tasks at once; compliance with established procedures.
