Position Description

Purpose of Position
? Participate in the design, development, testing and related processes essential in the production of the mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and hydraulic systems supporting the manufacture, sale and service of aerial devices, digger derricks and other specialty equipment comprising the company’s product line.

Responsibilities
? Development and operation of quality assurance systems. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluation products, processes, and production equipment.
? Interact with manufacturing and engineering in the resolution of product quality issues.
? Utilize statistical tools to identify root causes and improve processes.
? Develop, apply, and maintain a China quality program in accordance with US parent company’s quality program.
? Perform on-site audits of engineering, manufacturing and quality system capabilities for qualifying potential suppliers.
? Approve first articles and periodically inspect production components.
? Measure supplier quality, cost and delivery performance and implement continuous improvement using the Altec Production System and other commonly known quality control and process techniques.
? Investigate and take the lead on all quality issues related to components sourced in China and ensure corrective actions are implemented and carried through to production.
? Develop Quality control plan and Assist Supplier solve quality complains.

Qualifications
? Bachelor degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred).
? Above 1-2 years experience in an engineering quality position.
? Practical manufacturing (shop floor) exposure and supplier quality management or supplier technical development experience is preferred.
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills with background in interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes.
? Ability to travel throughout China, Some travel to the U.S. is expected.
? Experience with measuring devices and inspection techniques.
? Knowledge on ISO, ASTM, AWS or GB Standard for Material, Test etc.
? Ability to work in cross-functional, global team environment with good coordinating and communication skills.
? Ability to react quickly to resolve quality issues.
? Fluent in speaking and writing English.
? Ability to guide and influence suppliers with a high standard of ethics and honesty.
? Experience in Fabrication, Casting, Machining, Painting, Pressing and Welding etc.
? Knowledge on Mechanical test and Perform on Mechanical property test etc.
