BROAD FUNCTIONS
? SQE for assigned Commodity and/or Functional team (Electrical, Mechanical, HSA Components, Branded Products, Product Environmental Compliance, Media, Cleanliness Control, etc)
? Work with supplier to meet Factory and SQE Goals and Objectives
? Drive for continuous improvement in material/component Yield and Quality performance and ensure lowest cost of ownership at the supply base and WD HDD/Sub component assembly
? Support/coordinate/lead new supplier/additional source qualification to address quality, volume and cost requirements
? Review new supplier/manufacturing site qualification request and provide recommendation based on supplier capability and past performance where applicable
? Attend QBR and Quality meeting with Suppliers to provide feedback on supplier’s performance against WD and supplier Yield and Quality metrics Initiate SCAR, MSSO, SPCN and execute upon approval


RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular
? Attend key internal Quality and Production meetings
? Administer & manage daily “health” of supplier/material
? Drive and manage incoming materials quality via Supplier Quality Management processes
? Issue SCAR and MSSO where required. Manage closure of these events. Recommend use of “affected” material with minimum impact to WD HDD quality & reliability requirements; drive quality improvement of new parts
? Drive Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) at suppliers pertaining to Yield and Quality, Product Environment compliance & Contamination control (where applicable)
? Review and approve ECO/EDO/EAR/SPCN
? Assign new trace-ability code for new Supplier/Mfg site
? Weekly review of suppliers` SOQM, SCC & CPCP data. Initiate corrective action where necessary
? Perform Quality System & Process audit at supplier’s manufacturing site
? Present SQR and summary of accomplishment and opportunities at supplier QBR. Drive closure of open actions
? Regular meeting/conference call with suppliers as required

Irregular
? Provide guidance/training to new NE/IDL staff, as assigned
? Initiate/update procedure to reflect changes and current practice

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Required: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Applied Sc (Physics/Chemistry), Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or any other relevant degree

? Skill: Minimum 4 years experience in a Hard disk drive manufacturing environment, exposure in Product/Process/Quality Engineering/Supplier Management roles. Incumbent should have hands on experience in Auditing, Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 and/or OHSAS18001, EICC, Product Environmental Compliance/RoHS, use of SPC/Six Sigma, FMEA and be able to drive continuous improvement in SQE Quality Systems and Supplier management

? Good interpersonal skills and able to work with all levels of employees at WD and external Suppliers
