Job Position: Manager – Digital Studio
Experience: 3+ years working in photo studio or photography industry role

Description:
As Manager of Digital Studio at Central Studios, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete operation of any tasks relating to digital workflow and media production. You will be managing a team of digital operators, retouchers and other assistants, as well as managing the company’s digital hardware and software assets.

The basic operational tasks of this role are ensuring a seamless digital workflow from Capture to delivery and ensuring the department is working in a cost effective and timely manner to fulfil the deadlines of our clientele. In addition the department is also required to manage digital media production including gifs, graphics and motion.

The role is responsible for all of the company’s computers, digital camera systems, printers and digital assets that are required in the operation to fulfil the digital workflow needs. The continuous operation of the department including any equipment maintenance, admin or other related tasks also come within the role of this position.

The Digital Studio is must work alongside Production department and carry out all media production required for the successful delivery of work according to client’s deadlines.

The Manager of the Digital Operations will also be responsible for ensuring the department meets its financial targets and that all jobs are correctly invoiced, communicating with the studio manager and finance department.

The role answers directly to the Operations Director / Project Manager and the role must work closely with the Studio Manager and Finance Department to continually improve systems and provide a constant reporting feedback.

作为上海领先的摄影棚Central Studio的制作部经理责，负责管理并指导属下修图师、排版师以及其他工种，监督后期修图制作的各个流程，在客户规定的时间内，保质保量地完成后期制作任务；制作部经理同时负责管理公司数码制作部的各类硬件和软件设备。制作部经理将根据部门盈收指标，负责管理部门预算，同时与摄影部以及财务部及时沟通，保证客户方及时付款。该职位向公司运营总监汇报，与公司摄影部和财务部协同工作。



Duties & Responsibilities:

Note: While the description below mainly covers the services revolving around digital stills photography, any references to images/files shall also refer to motion, and any retouching shall also include video editing. As such, the department must accommodate the needs of motion capture and post production, to a limited degree.

1. Manage Digital Services Bookings
? Work closely with studio operations to ensure that all bookings are staffed with Digi-Techs, hardware resources and file download requirements.
? Manage the service and delivery of all current running jobs / bookings
? Ensure adequate resources are available to execute all jobs and plan to fill any shortages from other vendors if required.
? Ensure standard operating procedure is followed by all subordinate staff
? Deal directly with clients to assess the job requirements and plan solutions accordingly.
? Manage the preparation of quotations either directly or by assisting the studio manager or producers to prepare quotes and help negotiate service prices according to the company’s price schedule.

2. Manage All Studio staff
? Manage the team of digital assistants, retouchers and other production crew and assign responsibilities and jobs to each.
? Manage the work allocation for all staff and scheduling staff roster, ensuring payroll accountability and efficiency.
? Manage freelance assistants when needed during busy times.
? Work as the role of Digital Tech on shoots where required, or overseeing the efficient workflow and safe back up of all images for the studios’ client

3. Inventory and Studio Facility
? Communicate with Equipment room manager to manage the digital equipment inventory and oversee new purchases, repairs or equipment replacements.
? Ensure the accuracy of the digital equipment inventory documents and updating the price lists accordingly.
? Supervise the upkeep and maintenance of the digital studio and ensure all functions in working order.
? Responsible for communication with studio / production / accounting department for billing purposes
? Manage the company’s digital assets, software and hardware
? Ensure all software and firmware up to date
? Supervise digital operations include operator allocation and digital kits.
? Keeping the digital services room and department in an orderly manner


4. Manage Digital Assets & IT system
? Capture, process, develop, retouch and prepare digital RAW files or other file formats as required.
? Manage company’s digital assets and work with department to maintain and manage the safe and efficient storage of all digital assets
? Maintain the asset management systems and workflow assisting other departments with their digital asset needs
? Ensure all users are using the IT system correctly, including the file server and other proprietary systems.
? Ensure back up protocols are obeyed.
? Ensure all inventory is correctly entered on IT system.


5. Management
? Supervise service delivery and ensure client satisfaction / expectations met over and beyond.
? Work with management to set budgets and meet those targets.
? Work with management and finance to minimise the company’s expenses and control costs, including payroll and labour costs.
? Assist in dealing with customer complaints and turning a bad experience into a positive one.
? Ensure the confidentiality and security of the business operations.
? Ensure the operation functions seamlessly in all respects.
? Execute Business plans and meet targets including analysis of future investment
? Manage budgets and prepare sales reports.
? Be prepared to work long hours and weekends to oversee continuous operation of the studios.

1）根据客户需求出订单、报价。和摄影部密切协作，保证客户预定的数码助理、以及其他硬件设备在拍摄制作前到位；保证部门内人员按照标准流程有效率地工作；会见客户，沟通客户需求并设计方案，与客户沟通相关制作费用，根据公司价格政策向客户方报价；
2）部门管理职能。管理部门内数码助理、修图师等各个工种，合理分配工作任务；在工作繁忙的时间段，负责联系并聘用兼职制作人员以及时满足客户制作需求；必要时将在拍摄现场作为数码助理工作，监看工作流程并保证客户方图片安全保存备份；
3）制作部硬件设备的管理和维护。和器材室人员协作，管理数码设备，负责设备的采购、维修等；负责数码工作室的设备维护以及数据管理，根据公司报价政策的变化及时更新本部门设备报价更新；与摄影部、财务部沟通，保证客户方及时付款；根据工作需求负责部门内人员和物料的分配；保证数码制作部整洁有序；
4）管理公司数码制作设备和各种电脑设备。根据需求，采制图片并后期处理；管理和维护公司数码数据库；当摄影部对数码制作器材有需求时，提前准备各种器材，保证摄影部拍摄工作及时有效完成；在部门内严格执行图片备份制度；

Requirements:
? University graduate
? Proven record of managing staff and heading a team.
? Must have >3 years work experience in similar role or industry.
? Prefer Native Chinese language skills, spoken and written
? Excellent English language spoken and written skills
? Must have excellent communication skills and be able to handle dealing with clients
? Experience using full range of Adobe CS & MS Office and photo and video editing software.
? A good technical knowledge of computer hardware.
? Experience working with diversified customer base in the media and fashion industry, as well as managing different segments of our clientele.
? A desire to work in the photography industry as well as good understanding of the current trends in photography and industry news.
? Proven experience working with the media production industry and an understanding of the related problems.
? Target driven and sales focused.
? Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
? IT experience an advantage
? Experience working with inventory and technical products
? An understanding of studio lighting and photography
? Work closely with other assistants and team members to fulfill all work duties
? Must be technically minded and practical
