Scope:
The Westbound Route Development Manager will be responsible for driving new revenue growth through sales and development of westbound based accounts in their respective regions. This will be accomplished by analyzing regional markets to identify qualified opportunities, creating unique solutions for new and existing customer base and working with the local sales team to close westbound related business.
Responsibilities:
-Responsible for new business accounts within their assigned geographical locations
-50% of time spent on aggressive telephone, email and face to face productivity (20+ touches per day) when actively prospecting
-50% of time spent working with local sales members to cross sell westbound opportunities in the region, guiding and educating the local sales force on westbound products and services.
-Work in conjunction with our North American team on matters of pricing, operations and product development related to the westbound trade.
-Ability to give detailed feedback to North America on critical needs of Westbound development in region
-Prepare accurate and timely updates to our sales management system (OM)
-Maintain a strong pipeline of new customers and measurement of progress
-Maintain a commitment to the company’s sales processes, values and business code of ethics
-Understand and demonstrate the value of CH Robinson to potential clients
-Assist Key Account Managers to transition the account once it has been successfully closed
-Up to 50% travel time within region or as required
-Measured by both NR and volume contribution**
Qualifications
-Fluency in both English and Mandarin preferred (Cantonese preferred in Hong Kong). STRONG communication (Verbal and written) skills in both languages
-5+ years experience in selling complex solutions with the ability to conduct and lead high level presentations required
-5+ years in the logistics/freight industry preferred
-Self-motivated and competitive with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
-Ability to motivate team members and offer constructive criticism
-Excellent leadership and indirect people management skills
-Proactive, aggressive, well-organized and hard working
-Able to work under pressure and solve problems independently
-Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
-Able to quickly learn new systems and its functionalities and communicate information to clients
