Job Title

Communication Software Engineer in Alstom Grid China, Substation Automation Solutions R&D, based in Shanghai, China.

Purpose of the Job

The Communication Software Engineer is responsible for the implementation of communication software in protection relay or other power automation products.

The role will involve the understanding and analysis of software requirements and the knowledge and understanding of real time software embedded techniques to provide sufficiently detailed software specifications that can be used for technical solutions.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

? Allocated software/system requirements analysis

? Software components design

? Software components implementation and integration

? Unit and component testing

? Fault and defect analysis and correction

Educational Requirements

· Minimum Bachelor degree in Software Engineering or Computer Sciences

· good English skills in speaking, reading and writing.

Experience

the candidates will be required to have competency in the following disciplines:

· Minimum 3 years of embedded software development experience

· Solid expertise in C/C++ software development language

· Solid expertise in using UML design language

· Solid development knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stacks and services

· Experience with industrial communications protocol (i.e.: Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850) is a plus

· Power systems and protection knowledge is advantageous.

· Exposure to mission (safety) critical software development is a plus

· Diligent and team spirited
