Job Title: Technical Manager- Shanghai General Motor
Reports To: R&D Director
Location: Shanghai
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- To ensure a comprehensive and collaborative customer partner relationship
- Oversee, organize and communicate technical issues between customers and company on existing, advanced, and future development programs
- Coordinate and communicate to company internal management necessary support required for customer programs and escalation communication
- Coordinate, facilitate and schedule key meetings with customers and internal team members (design reviews, PDT's, executive reviews, etc)
- Support program managers and teams during the development and launch of new programs
- Travel to customer plant locations as necessary to support build events (IVER, Matching, SORP)
- Travel to customer plant locations as necessary to support the timely resolution of systemic technical issues; identify and root cause manufacturing/quality plant build issues.
- Lead and ensure key technical information is transferred, shared and communicated in an efficient and timely manner between company and GM locations
- Support customer engineering change requests to insure timely response, resolution and implementation of required technical changes
- Support Purchasing and SQA with technical input to resolve supply base issues
- Support program managers and teams during the development and launch of new programs
- Lead customer Change Management coordinator
- Warranty and field claim lead
- Potential for Supplier Integration at SGM/PATAC

-Bachelor's degree or above in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
-more than 3 years working experience with SGM/PATAC
- more than 3 years Auto engineering background
- Familiar with GM/SGM developing process
- Familiar with APQP/GD&T/DFMEA/DOE process or engineering method
-Good skills for English
-Strong technical skills
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills in Catia 3D modeling
-Good plan and schedule management skills
-Good communication skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of top managers, clients, customers, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
