Position: China Strategic Sourcing Manager


Essential Purpose of the position:
1, The procurement of copper and aluminum at the best price, on the best terms and when it is needed.
2, The management of the copper and aluminum hedging program.
3, Communication of all issues to both local and Atlanta management


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Procure copper and aluminum at the best price and terms
? Maintain key supplier relationships
? Develop new suppliers
? Negotiate long term contracts
? Secure additional spot requirements
? Key player in managing inventory levels
? Managing the Hedge Program
? Mitigate the risk associated with procuring metal for future sales within the boundaries of the hedge policies
? Identify market opportunities are arbitrages available to the company
? Part of a team that identifies risks that can be hedged and offering such solutions to the team
? Report hedge program results to local management and Corporate headquarters in Atlanta
? Reporting on all metal activities
? Ensure the local management team is fully briefed in summary form of all copper and aluminum procurement and hedge activities
? Identify issues that require a more detailed review and highlighting such items to the local management and Atlanta
? Lead the remote teams in Suzhou and Tianjin and become fully imbedded in the operations as they relate to copper and aluminum

Education Requirement:
Bachelor Degree is requested.
MBA could be an advantage, but not necessary

Experience Requirements:
? Experience in the procurement of magnet wire quality copper rod and cathode and magnet wire quality aluminum rod and ingot is strongly preferred
? Demonstrated ability to negotiate long term contracts with favorable terms and pricing
? A history of building relationships with key suppliers with an attitude of continuous improvement
? The ability to develop new suppliers including the 1) external work with the supplier and the 2) internal work within the company to gain acceptance of the new supplier
? Experience hedging metals on the Shanghai Futures Exchange is strongly preferred with experience hedging copper and aluminum directly a strong plus.
? Understanding of basic hedging fundamentals
? Demonstrated history of managing a western style (conservative with no or little speculation) hedge portfolio within the constraints and possibilities of the Chinese environment preferred
? Leadership experience in building and maintaining a strong team
? Building teams that are loyal, dedicated, ethical and trustworthy
? Managing teams in offsite locations (Suzhou and Tianjin)




Skills and abilities:
? Negotiation and contract writing
? Speaks both English and Mandarin
? Proficient writing skill in both English and Mandarin
? Hedging knowledge and experience on the SHFE (LME and COMEX a plus)
? Able to manage multiple projects at the same time
? Supplier development
? Work independently
? Self-starter
? Relationship building with internal and external customers
? General knowledge of copper market in China, as well as aluminum
? Team leadership
? Able to communicate to all levels of the organization as required
