Purpose of Position
To support technical aspects of Corning's Mobile Emissions Business and Products including gasoline and diesel ceramic monolithic substrates and filters - in China. The position scope includes:
- Coordination of customer technical activity and projects, resolution of new product and process introductions and qualifications.
- Support technical needs of both local and global OEM/Tier I activities in China.
This position is expected to be systems design specialist (i.e. Diesel, Auto After-treatment systems) and have primary expertise in one specific area while covering functional knowledge across all areas.

Major Responsibility
On-going Tasks:
· Work with China Account Engineers/Account Manager(s) to coordinate the activities with technical focus at assigned customers, including local Chinese OEMs and the supply chain as well as global OEM and supply chain joint ventures located in China.
· Provide technical support to Sales/Marketing, Customer Service, and Research and Development Engineering colleagues as required.
· Define and coordinate special customer testing requirements.
· Be responsible for resolution of quality & field event related OEM issues as a subject matter expert.
· Interface with the second layer customers; i.e., catalyzers, canners, to troubleshoot related problems and resolve corrective action if required.
· Actively participate in the development, testing and presentation of new products to meet customer's future needs.
· Leverage use of CVAS for design and product/system performance evaluation in China as required.
· Direct all technical resources in providing system & product design solutions.
· Innovate on Team Interaction as required.

Key Decision Area
· Conduct customer related product evaluation tests.
· Organize personal files and technical information for efficient use and retrieval of information by all department engineers. Understand and use the CMIS system for all trip and key contact reports.
· Reduce customer validation requirements to obtain product and process change customer acceptance with less effort and within short time frame.
· Assess need for CVAS resources; utilize as appropriate.

Relationships
A. Internal Contacts - Frequent contact with commercial team in the company and technical engineering, product engineering, system engineering, Sullivan Park, D&E groups innovation teams as well as Global Account Team in division
B. External Contacts - Frequent contact with customers (OEMS, catalyzers and canners, etc.) on a project/program basis

Education & Experience
· Master Degree of Automotive Engineering or Engine Engineering related
· 1-2 years engineering experience with Automotive industry experience (multi-national company experience preferred)
· Diesel engine background is preferred
· Understanding of aftertreatment technology(SCR, DOC, POC, DPF) is a plus
