JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for CNC Programming for Production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Create programs for a wide range of numerical control equipment using CAD/CAM system and custom software
? Analyze CAD models prior to programming and diagnose model problems in event of programming issues. Prepare customized templates for automated part-programming, provide test programs, prepare and assist in fixture design and/or programs.
? Manage small task related projects re: automation improvements, tool improvements.
? Management of Tool Library, Best Practices Maintenance, Outline Automation, Support of PI Automation Projects. May be Black Belt Support Team or Green Belt Project Leader.
? Determine machining processes (i.e. order of operations) and required fixturing.
? Maintain Tool Libraries & Drawings.
? May also be required to conduct tool testing for process optimizations.
? Mentor and/or train new/junior programmers.
? Manage a team of WFL machine operators and meet lead time, on time, and quality targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Minimum post-secondary diploma in a related field (i.e. Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Manufacturing Engineering ) preferred.
Depending on the location, training and/or certification in any of the following would be an asset:
(1) UG CAM
(2) Vericut
(3) Project Management


RELATED EXPERIENCE:
MUST HAVE
? Related experience: Intermediate level of experience: Approx. 3 years or more in a manufacturing environment/ 3 or more years CAD/CAM experience/ Tooling/fixture design preferred
? Advanced knowledge of CNC Programming and Tool Capabilities.
? Knowledge of G Code/M Code. Understanding or correlatio
? Solid CAD/CAM software skills (Unigraphics) and Verification Software skills (Vericut), with ability to diagnose issues encountered in programming. Also, basic Understanding of Customized Software and Libraries.
? Strong Manufacturing/Machining/ Tooling knowledge, plus knowledge of fixtures/capability to design or work with Designers re: new fixturing
NICE TO HAVE: Maintenance of Mfg Skills (if applicable) through annual usage
