Job Title: Supplier Development Manager
Function: Procurement and Logistics
Reports to: Regional Procurement Director, Asia Pacific
Position Purpose:
The incumbent is responsible for rigorously project manage and expedite the qualification and start-up of specific raw materials with an identified set of suppliers in Asia Pacific.
Job Responsibilities:
? Engage with Global Procurement Category Managers, Director of Direct Materials and Regional Procurement Director and Regional Category Managers to understand prioritized suppliers and materials for on-boarding
? Create and maintain detailed project plans for the qualification and ramp up of specific suppliers and raw materials within the specified region
? Engage with Technology to understand qualification requirements (including pre-requisites)
? Work with suppliers to ensure that all pre-requisites and qualification requirements are met
? Work with suppliers to define and manage the implementation of required improvements to meet the qualification requirements
? Track the status and progress of the qualification process and escalate issues / delays to Procurement leadership
? Engage with Operations to understand and manage the execution of preparation activities to ramp up supply of specified raw materials after qualification
? Work with suppliers to define and manage the implementation of required improvements to meet the operational requirements
? Track the status and progress of the supply ramp up (aligned to defined plans) and escalate issues / delays to Procurement leadership
Education/Qualifications/Experience:
? Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science etc. MBA desired but not required.
? 5 - 10 years of Project Management and Manufacturing Engineering / Chemical Engineering experience
? Significant experience with new product / new supplier scale-up and commercialization
? Ability to effectively manage research projects including definition of goals, timing, resource requirements and execution plan
? Ability to effectively manage supply chain projects including inventory planning, ramp-up/ramp-down and supplier handover & change management
? Ability to recommend and assist in implementing manufacturing process changes with target suppliers in order to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies; optimizes process conditions to achieve desirable product performance and achieve qualification
? Quality engineering experience is a plus
? Able to communicate with multiple parts the organization in multiple functional areas
? Able to effectively deal with and overcome cultural resistance to installation of new suppliers and Supplier Development objectives
? Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English.
? Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
? Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
? Able to act as change agent
