DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible within project engineering team for localization of various automotive plastic parts for high end products
· Responsible to lower overall material costs for the end product
· Coordinate localization work between US head office, Shanghai purchasing office and local supplier
· Qualification (testing and release) of localized parts
· Support supplier selection and contribute to their further development
· Determine tool & fixture design factoring in optimum, quality and cost and timing.
· Coordinate & evaluate FMEA analysis and the design/ drawing for manufacturing of prototype & production tooling
· Report to Purchasing Manager-IPO on day-to-day basis.
· Keep close contact with Far East region suppliers for technical discussion and troubleshooting for tooling and tool related products.
· Qualify Far East region tooling suppliers and assure suppliers deliver the fully quality assured tooling and tooled products.
· Ensure tooling and tooled related products produced at a cost effective manner.
· Provide regional tooling support for Intier Seating teams who are having tooling built in the respective region (resolve tool timing, quality, and communication issues identified through Supply Windows Inc.).
· Provide RFQ support and follow up.
· Monitor performance and capacity of our key tool suppliers in the region.
· Develop regional suppliers to be able to better meet Intier's needs (help them understand our needs)
· Provide liaison support between the Intier tool buyer and the tooling suppliers.
· Help support Intier tooling globalization activities.
QUALIFICATION
· Bachelor degree or above, majored in mechanical or tooling engineering
· More than 5 years working experience in designing and/or manufacturing of tools with preference for automotive plastic parts
· Experience in related tooling software
· Knowledge of design software (e.g. Catia V4 & V5, ProE, UG)
· Knowledge of project management
· Excellent Interpersonal and organizational skills
· English speaker, able to communicate with count parties in the US efficiently,
Self-motivated, able to work independent and under pressure, to achieve the requested timing and quality of assigned tasks.
· Can take intensive travels
