Malherbe Design is seeking Very Experienced Technical Director specialized in Retail to join his Shanghai office. With a strong experience in various fields such as Mass Market Retailers, Fashion stores or Shopping Malls you would have to support the Design Team in the implementation of different projects for international and local brands.
Expert in processes, technical solutions, manufacturing methods, costs, materials etc… you guarantee the feasibility of the concepts through technical solutions.
Pro-active, precise, methodical, extremely rigourous with a technical background in the construction fields, you supervise the projects and the technical team deliverables to insure the suitability of the technical answers.
Involved in the projects at the first stages your mission is also to guide the creative team to be sure that the project respects all the contrainsts.
Used to work on different scale projects, you meet and propose suitable suppliers and follow the construction with General Contractors and members of the Design Team. Beside you are able to provide cost estimation and general quotations for the projects.
Your technical skills coupled with a real aesthetic sensitivity give you the chance to always choose the best options for any issue and guarantee the correlation between the initial concept and the final realisation.
Very demanding, you feel good when the store is even nicer than the 3D !

Requirements :
Autocad
Fluent English and Chinese speaking
Advanced knowledges in materials, manufacturing methods, process etc
Advanced knowledges in local Regulations and Permissions
Advanced knowledges in Architecture

Job Description

General Mission : To enable and support the implementation of projects
Flowchart: Under the supervision of the Creative Director

CREATION / TECHNICAL
1 . Translate in technical term projects
2 . Know technically feasibility and advise designers
3 . Understand the projects and bring them into manufacturing project as technical drawings
4 . Supervise, guide Autocad Designers
5 . Determine the materials and manufacturing methods respecting budget, technical constraints and technical project image
6 . Participate in agency meetings with suppliers or general constructor

SUPPLIER RELATIONS / MONITORING TECHNIQUE
1 . Meet and propose corresponding suppliers in line with aesthetic, technical and budgetary expectations.
2 . Check on site full compliance of the project production
3 . Keep track of prototypes, technical testing, materials etc ...
4 . Participate in the development of a supplier directory
5 . Check external quotes and judge their relevance

ESTIMATED BUDGET
1 . Estimate the costs necessary for the project
2 . Develop estimates tables
3 . Advise on choosing suppliers
