Job Description:

McDonald's China Legal Department seeks a highly motivated and effective lawyer to join its Litigation practice group in Shanghai. A background in litigation, arbitration, government investigation, general corporate or real estate is preferred.

The Counsel position is responsible for managing and handling litigation, arbitration and government investigation with internal and/or external experts. The position reports to the Litigation team leader, and will be instrumental in providing strategic thought partnership to the practice area, in addition to our business partners.

Responsibilities:

? Manage litigation, arbitration and government investigation and supervise outside counsel’s work on a case by case basis;
? Provide general legal support to McDonald’s business in China, by advising on a broad range of legal issues with a focus on restaurant operations and commercial leases;
? Work collaboratively with and advise business clients on issues arising from daily operations; identify developments, issues and situations that require internal collaboration;
? Negotiate, draft and review various commercial agreements;
? Provide necessary training to internal business clients and external business partners;
? Partner with practice area head to identify process improvements;
? Work with cross-functional teams and engage in effective dialogue with various stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Qualifications:

? Law degree from a top PRC university, 5 to 10 years experiences in a reputable domestic or international law firm or in-house position in a multinational company, overseas legal training is preferred, but not mandatory;
? Solid knowledge and experiences in Chinese legal areas of dispute resolution, government investigation, general corporate, real estate etc.;
? Strong analyzing and document drafting skills in both Chinese & English;
? Ability to understand business needs and develop strong relationships with business partners, and function as a proactive partner to the business;
? Ability to work independently as a legal professional, and exercise independent informed and considered judgment with minimal supervision;
? Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills; ability to think creatively to solve problems; and
? Strong sense of integrity and belief in integrity as a core value in business.
