We
are seeking a Linux System Administrator/Networking Engineer to join our team for the continued development & maintenance of our
premium e-commerce platform which includes B2B websites, mobile sites and an in-house
ERP system. Our e-commerce platform powers multichannel retailing, global
e-commerce and sophisticated online merchandising and marketing strategies. You
will learn and be exposed to the latest e-commerce technology solutions
including mobile commerce, scalable & agile technology framework, 3D
augmented reality modulisation and amongst others.

Your role will include:


Our
Linux system administrator will define our system architecture in concert with
colleagues in engineering and operations. He will be responsible for
maintaining our production systems and making sure we are able to consistently
deliver world-class service.


Configuration, management, monitoring,
maintenance and troubleshooting of all Linux Servers
Design, implement and manage backup,
recovery and high availability strategy for all Linux servers
Work closely with Development and QA
groups to deploy and support internally developed applications.
Scripting to automate and integrate
systems and applications (including repetitive tasks)
System monitoring and performance
optimization
Identify areas for continuous
improvement and efficiencies
24×7 on call support in responding to
problems and outages
Perform other duties as assigned

The candidate will have the following
competencies:


Strong knowledge of Linux including
installation, administration and troubleshooting (Red Hat and CentOS
preferred), networking and storage.
Solid experience with multi-server
environment / deployments
Scripting and automation using bash,
Perl, Python and other common Linux utilities
Familiarity with databases and web
programming languages
Strong understanding of Networking
(including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL) and Security
Strong Apache experience
Working
knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including
firewalls, load balancers, IDS, web and database servers. Well versed in
Apache web server, PHP, MySQL. Installing, configuring, and maintaining
services such as Apache, MySQL, PHP.
Monitoring
servers for stability and taking both proactive and reactive measures to
correct and prevent issues. Maintain network, analyze problems, and
monitor networks to ensure their availability to system users. Help
perform network back-ups and measure network performance
File Replication,
File System Tuning, Upgrading, Configuring, Troubleshooting
Backup / DB
replication / Disaster Recovery
Excellent
fundamental problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to gather
requirements, design and implement appropriate solutions. Strong process
oriented experience in terms of implementation and completion
Excellent oral and written
communication skills
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work
environment
Excellent written/verbal communication
skills in English
Have very strong attention to detail
and be able to work to deadlines
