I. Background Information
Position Title: Design Visualization Manager
Function/Department: GM China Design
Location: Shanghai,China
Reports to: Operations Director of GM China Design
Required travel frequency: N/A
II. Purpose
- To manage all aspects of VR studio (including but not limited to hardware, software, visuals, and presentation material) to ensure successful reviews, meetings, and conference calls.
- To create visualization material - primarily stills, but potentially animations to support advanced projects.
- To build a strong Visualization team in future.
III. Areas of Responsibility
1. VR Management
- Obtain expert knowledge of all aspects of the VR system designed by supplier, and supervise the installation and testing of the system
- Maintain and improve the system if necessary on a continuous basis to ensure proper running of all meetings and reviews held in the VR studio
2. Visualization Creation
- Create visualization material to support advanced projects
IV. Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competencies
Knowledge:
- Expert knowledge of RTT DeltaGen development, Photoshop, Alias software. Knowledge of Maya software.
- Knowledge of VR system.
Skills/ Competencies:
- Expert rendering skill of still images.
- Competent animation creation and processing skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Expert command of English as a second language.
- Strong interest in electronics, and audio&video hardwares
Experience/Education:
- 5 year minimum experience in creating and processing visualization materials (stills and animation) with DeltaGen and/or Maya. Automotive experience preferred.
- 3 year minimum work experience in VR studio environment is preferred.
- BA in Industrial Design or Graphic Design is required. Master degree in related field is preferred.
