Major Duties and Responsibilities:
?Work would be primarily in Garage and benchmarking areas but will include operating machines in metal, wood, machining shops, and build area, ability to build up vehicle prototype components and put together per supervisor and customer requirements.
?Execution of workshop projects, such as JVs mule vehicle build up, design studio modeling tasks, powertrain and R&D department required components machining, etc.
?Manage workshop resources, including organizing for workshop safety and cleanliness, instruments inventory, calibration schedule, and regular maintenance.
?Assist counterparts in identifying fixtures, spare parts and hardware requirements and purchasing. Independent judgment is required, with some direction from supervisor and customer.
?Manage workshop materials incoming and outgoing inventory, status tracking, etc.
?Effectively communicate results to counterparts and supervisor.
?Able to support VABA teardown, other lab technicians' regular work, when required
?Ability to work on electrical components specifically wiring harnesses, relays, fuses etc. and to trouble shoot using appropriate tools
?Willing to work (occasionally) beyond normal working hours.
Qualifications:
?Junior college degree or similar in automotive, electrical, mechanical or related field
?Understand technical standards, part specifications
?Workable English skills.
?Good PC skills, email, MS Office software.
?Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication skills.
?Prefer having a driving license and certified in driving fork lift truck.
Experience:
?Experience with operating computer numerical controlled machines to cut metal or wood, and operating manual mechanical equipment like mills, lathe, drill to make quick mock up parts.
?3 or more years' experiences in mechanical work in Garage, lab maintenance, fixture preparation, test setup and execution.
?Capable of welding steel or aluminum materials.
?Experience in problem investigation and applying technical judgment to develop solutions.
?Good record of observing safety protocol.
Preferred experiences:
Experience in workshops, vehicle teardown or assembly of vehicles in a shop
Experience with electrical components' trouble shooting especially wiring harnesses, relays, fuses etc.
Personal Attributes:
?Independent, self motivated, goal oriented, and persistent
?Diligent, accurate, precise, thorough and highly organized
?Ability to effectively organize and plan workloads
