Job Title & location:

Quality Controller (QC) at Nordisk Asia, Shanghai.
For the right person there is an option to be located in another city in Jiangsu, Zhejiang or Fujian.
The QC will report to the Merchandiser at the Nordisk Asia office in Shanghai.
Product range:
Outdoor products and gear for hard lines and soft lines. This includes, but is not limited to: tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, backpacks, foldable furniture, outdoor garments.


General Job Description:

The QC ensures that all orders from our European headquarter are produced as per specifications and are up to our AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standards. This includes proto, sampling, salesman samples to bulk deliveries. The QC will make frequent factory visits and perform Quality Assurance as well as hands on quality control. The QC must plan/foresee seasonal activity and perform an on location problem solving approach.
The QC will furthermore be expected to assist the product development and sourcing/buying team in Europe with ideas from the supply chain to further develop the Nordisk brands with product ideas or raw material ideas. The QC must also ensure that procurement procedures are carried out as per company guidelines and procedures. Some negotiations with partners and supply chain is required to optimize terms and conditions.
Extensive and relevant China travel activity must be expected.

Main responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance/Quality Control processes. Develop procedures and perform these.
• Order follow up. Components and quality as well as timely execution.
• In close co-operation with the merchandiser, assist and provide support to the objectives of the office.
• Ensure that all specs are followed in each step of the supply chain. Participate in developing systems and

specifications, including tolerance system and verification.

• Carry out all head quarter requests on proto, samples, bulk.
• Ensure that supply chain understands the required standards and test these and apply pre-production / in line and final inspections. Ensure that record of quality control is complete and documentation is in order.
• Ensure that all deliveries are done in a timely manner and that logistics are in order.
• Close co-operation with suppliers to maintain and develop them and their products
• Assist and actively seek new ideas and feed back to management with products and ideas from the market / suppliers.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• At least 3 years related work experience with production and/or QC. Experience with systematic quality control procedures. Preferably AQL (Acceptable Quality Level).
• Your personality reflects honesty, integrity, reliability, creativity and discipline. You are motivated by a dynamic environment, you like to be organised, take initiative and work hard. You can apply diplomacy when required.
• High degree of discipline and capable of working individually and in a team.
• Good communications skills and a positive attitude.
• Good and well trained computer skills at user level with at least MS office programs.
• Good verbal and written English + Mandarin skills.
• German language skills an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Production / product knowledge which are related to outdoor products or textile related.
• Experience with products which requires evaluation of workmanship, and which consists of various components.
