Job Description:

The Director of Datacenter Practice is one of TIG’s senior architects and delivers business and technical management in several key functional areas. Position is responsible to provide primary Vendor Management and leadership as related to the selection of technology platforms supported by TIG and as well as in depth knowledge of associated program management requirements and program certification compliance. This position manages directly or indirectly project oriented pre-sale and implementation engineering resources.

Additionally, the Director will be required to craft / review Statements of Work (SOWs). SOWs will include detailed infrastructure solution architecture and design for TIG’s Technology Solutions projects, as well as general Data Center infrastructure solutions. This position will coordinate highly trained teams of subject matter experts who participate in the development, building and maintenance of critical business solutions for multiple independent clients. Director of Datacenter Practice will regularly participate in and direct activities in multiple disciplines (eg. server, storage, cloud). Additionally, disciplines include but are not limited to datacenter solutions, infrastructure performance, architecture/design and assessments, storage strategy, network topologies and development of solution roadmap for clients. Director of Datacenter Practice will serve as a focal point to create fee-based consulting services and deliverables including the associated support infrastructure and processes to ensure the success of Datacenter Solutions projects.


General Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure overall health and integrity of the Datacenter Practice within TIG China
· Define product portfolio and service offerings, provide vendor management of partnered and non-partnered vendors
· Properly evaluate customer requirements in order to recommend specific solution design\product recommendation to solve customers' business needs.
· Produce fee-based deliverables as a result of thorough evaluation and documentation of client's IT infrastructure, including design drawings, hardware/software configurations, and IT processes.
· Provide datacenter support to Account Executives, Sales Manager and Branch Managers.
· Participate as needed in monthly Account Reviews with sales team.
· Coach and mentor staff for success providing positive, proactive supportive approach.
o Allow for entrepreneurial yet accountable approach with the sales teams.
o Set Training criteria and objectives and mentor for success.
o Push for solutions orientation with properly trained staff resulting in profitable engagements and sound productivity of all staff members.
o Maintain and increase technical certifications based upon certification requirement changes and business market requirements

Sales Duties and Responsibilities:
· Managing and executing the strategic growth of the Datacenter Practice sales.
· Lead all phases of engagement in Data Center Solutions environments.
· Responsible for the preparation and quality of proposal and SOW.
· Responsible to provide SME content for sales proposals and RFPs.
· Primary responsibility to create datacenter sales demand events for assigned operations.
· Primary responsibility to oversee and manage Datacenter Practice pipelines, forecasts and opportunities regularly for assigned operations.
· Set up and execute partner strategy, go-to-market plan and targets.

Operational Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support for service operations or project management
o Ensure accurate and timely work where appropriate
o Monitor and coordinate billable activity and maximize billing activity monthly when appropriate
o Resolve customer satisfaction issues (in conjunction with sales team)
· Communications/Escalations
o Communicate business updates/challenges regularly to assigned VP or executive team as needed
· Reporting
o Combine, review, and validate weekly and monthly reports for submission to corporate
o Monitor monthly progress against forecast and communicate to VP Technology Solutions
o Review engineering utilization reports monthly with TIG Professional Service Operations
o Ad hoc reporting as required (Business Plan, Partner Plans, Launch Plans, etc.)

Desired skills and abilities but are not limited to the following:
· Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
· Proven track record in management of a "Technology Solution" environment
· In depth knowledge of datacenter management models
· In depth knowledge of cloud technologies
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
· Drive to excel and succeed
· General Industry knowledge
· Technology Certifications and Education helpful
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Requirements:
· Four-Year College Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline required
· Possess a Master's degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline highly desired
· Minimum 10 years experience in IT technology required, minimum 5 years of datacenter directly related experience required
· Minimum 10 years experience enterprise infrastructure technology required
