Role's Mission:
ChinaNetCloud, China’s largest Linux server operations company is seeking a Linux Engineer. You will be working with an international expert-team of engineers and project managers, which will not only help you improve your technical skills, but also your English/Mandarin, thinking outside of the box and developing a global business mindset.

You will be managing thousands of servers, for hundreds of customers, across various industries, in multiple countries, using any system and any architecture. The engineers we hire become leading experts in every form of technology. No other company can offer the same opportunity.

In this role you will:

- Provide outstanding professional service to our customers
- Install, build, and manage Linux servers
- Install and manage load balancers, web servers, database systems and more
- Manage, backup and troubleshoot all types of Internet systems
- Become an expert in all areas of large-scale Internet operations

- Make improvements to our systems
- Tune and troubleshoot Database servers (MySQL Replication / troubleshooting);
- Setup and tune Cisco switches and firewalls
- Write good scripts (shell, python, perl, etc.) for monitoring, backup and routine automation work
- Create and update accurate system documentation
- Develop good quality training materials and provide training to the team members
- Provide proactive improvements to our systems
- Design and deploy Linux high-availability including HA, LB
- Architect complex network designs and solve technical problems

Job Requirements

Must Have’s:
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system and Linux tools (top/iostat/vmstat/sar, etc.),
- Familiar with tuning Web service (apache / Lighttpd / Nginx ) + (PHP/Ruby-passenger),
- Familiar with other web technologies and tools, such as Cisco, Huawei, F5, Subversion, csv & git,
- Excellent problem solving skills with a desire to learn and take on responsibility,
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure within a reasonable time frame
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with end-users, peers, and management.
- Working extra hours if the duty requires it
- Willing to be available and On-Call to provide critical support to our 24x7 team

- Knowledge of remote storage for NFS and SANs
- Knowledge of Xen (HVM – PVM) and Vmware virtualization systems
- Good experience managing and tuning monitoring servers (Zabbix / Nagios / Cacti / etc.)
