DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The industrial engineer position is responsible for developing and driving process improvement and manufacturing excellence. The primary focus is line efficiency and output, line set up, time and motion studies and/or GSD, line balancing and having a sound knowledge of work aids and attachments and garment operations breakdown. Must possess the ability to influence operator efficiency through method training, work aids and attachments.
? Support operations in working on new product introductions and line extensions
? Analyze, evaluate and propose equipment, process, and facility layout to ensure the most efficient operating conditions
? Generate and report project status and timelines
? Evaluate manufacturing process constraints based on one’s knowledge and the observations of the manufacturing team members, propose and implement solutions
? Recommend and justify the most efficient use of existing production equipment and provide new equipment justification based on labor and material savings
? Determine manufacturability of products and ensure manufacturing processes and equipment have sufficient capability to meet customer quality requirements by analyzing capability studies, control charts and other statistical data
? Actively participate in program updates with executive management and issue action items to assigned members
? Maintains product and company reputation
? Interacts with product development teams in all phases of product development lifecycle and participate in product design for manufacturing
? Manage and evaluate manufacturing and process documentation for release to executive management
? Encourages communication within work teams, establishes good rapport and maintains high employee morale
? Provide strategy for continuous improvement goals to specifically improve output and reduce defects incrementally
? Implement key strategies and meet target objectives established by the executive management
? Maintain safe and effective working standards for all personnel
? Provide high-level communication summaries and presentations for management
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE/POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
? Minimum of 5 years experience on a manufacturing team
? Excellent procedure communication and writing skills
? Change agent with energy, passion and enthusiasm to drive change
? Excellent people skills, and hands on approach
