DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Position Overview:
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to direct and manage engineering operations, in partnership with all management teams for all manufacturing and R&D projects. Must develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards, manage the product design process from design to execution and provide engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, specifications, and machine maintenance.
Develop and execute project timelines and ensure current and accurate costing on all materials and products along with managing the engineering budget. Provide recommendations for methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities while building, developing and managing engineering team.
Main Responsibilities:
? Drive engineering activities including, New Product Development, Technology Development, Injection Molding Shop support, Assembly Line Support and Program Management to deliver business objectives.
? Fully responsible for the management of R&D, ensure timely completion of new products development and delivery, to meet the needs of production, quality and customers.
? Manage the tooling, product developments progress, and control the cost of development and progress.
? Accountable for maintaining and improving product documentation, design standards and material specifications. This includes implementing tools/systems and process that reduce cycle time, increase accuracy (quality) and improve productivity.
? Responsible for Optimization of packaging design and ensure the product’s packaging safety, reliable, satisfy with requirements of customers.
? Drives the product development team buildup with must-have competencies. Directs and provides required training within the team.
? Leads the product development team and develops new products that meet or exceed customer requirements and offer best-in-class performance.
? Manages product development projects to achieve deliverables / targets in a timely manner.
? Promotes know-how exchange and collaboration with the sourcing and manufacturing team.
? Correlates tooling experience in the development of new products, and aids with progress during experimental production stages into full production.
? Collaborates with key customers to better understand unmet customer needs and identify product development opportunities.
? Regular presents observations, conclusions and recommendations to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE/POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
? B.S in Engineering.
? At least 10 years’ experience in the design and development area of plastic injection molding industrial applications.
? Six (6+) plus years’ people management experience
? Good communication skill, team coordination and understanding ability.
? Strong experience on new project launch-up, manufacturing cost and efficiency evaluation, equipment capacity analysis.
? Fluent Mandarin with good written English.
? Self-motivated, innovative, hard working with problem solving skills.
