Job Summary
The Systems Engineer (SE) will provide pre-sales technical support on Visual Network Systems solution. A partial list of the solutions includes:
- Visual Performance Manager (VPM)
- Application Performance Appliance (APA)
- Enterprise Network Performance Appliance (NPA)
- Visual UpTime Products
The SE will play a vital role in driving revenue in their territory and named accounts. The SE will shorten sales cycles by overcoming technical hurdles, building strong customer relationships, and effectively owning the Proof-of-Concept (PoC) process within enterprise accounts. The SE will also ensure our customers maximize the value in their investments through conducting workshops and seminars.
The SE drives sales with superior technical expertise, customer focus, written and communication skills, account management skills, and sales acumen. The SE will act as a technical liaison between our customers and the Product Management (PM) and Engineering organizations. This includes such responsibilities as funneling new market and product features to PM and working with Engineering to qualify and understand field issues, as appropriate.
Job Responsibilities
§ Possess subject-matter expertise (SME) in Visual Network Systems solutions and technologies.
§ Assess business goals and challenges of each customer.
§ Position best solutions to meet the business goals and challenges of the customer.
§ Perform high-level (business-oriented) and detailed technical presentations and demonstrations depending on the audience type.
§ Own the PoC (evaluation) process.
§ Build and leverage key relationships to overcome technical hurdles and foster awareness of our solutions at all levels within the customer organization.
§ Respond to proposals and/or RFIs.
§ Identify market and product requirements based on field engagements.
§ Travel is required.
Qualifications
§ Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
§ 5+ years as a pre-sales technical engineer supporting Territory Sales Managers (or equivalent role) within local territory.
§ Must have very strong knowledge of modern networking technology including the WAN, the LAN, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, and Application performance.
§ Hands-on experience with protocol analyzers is highly desirable.
§ Previous experience with Application Performance Management and Network Performance Management solutions is highly desirable.
§ Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and possess strong leadership and troubleshooting ability.
§ Experience with both direct and indirect selling (through channels) and/or familiarity with the channel sales model.
§ Proven success, established customers and contacts, and solid territory knowledge.
§ Demonstrated consistent quota achievement.
§ CCIE is preferred.

Job Description:
Arbor Networks is currently searching for a seasoned Network Security Sales Professional. This person will be responsible for the prospecting and acquisition of new accounts on a national level. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following:
-Cultivate and close new prospects
-Manage and maintain and up-sell accounts
-Make presentations to prospects and new customers
-Acquire and work with partner organizations that are essential to sales for the customer community.
-Ensure resolution of account problems through to resolution

Qualifications:
-5+ years successful sales experience selling networking equipment, network management and or security software to FSI, Service and Cable Providers.
-Must have experience working for a startup or demonstrably be suited to working in a startup environment
-Must have a proven track record of consistent delivery of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Technical Skillset Desired:
-A technology sales background and must be solution sales oriented
-Partnering activity relationships and contacts with Arbor's Business Development Partners (Cisco, Juniper and Micromuse)
-Negotiated licensing/support contracts
Strong technical background (routing, networking, network security, customer care provisioning systems etc.)
-Experience in information technology, network security, or security
