Position Title:

IT and Development Director, Nurun China

Reporting Relationships:

Reporting to the Managing Director, Nurun China

Technical team dedicated to Nurun China operations

Position Summary

The Director of Development has the responsibility for the successful delivery of the technological aspect of the digital solutions for Nurun China clients.

This position entails working with cross-functional, multi-project teams to ensure solutions are delivered with the best technical approach, on-time and on-budget. The Director of Development applies senior technical and managerial skills in order to satisfy project requirements, while building positive professional relationships with both colleagues and clients.

Context:

Nurun China has built a fast growing business over the 10 past years in China, almost doubling its revenues in the past 4 years, and with revenues of more than 5 millions dollars in 2011. The digital arena in China is evolving very fast, and is one of the strategic digital markets worldwide. A severe talent shortage, high turnover and inflating salaries, for both agencies and client staff, are external pressures that complexifies the operations of Nurun China today.

Key responsibilities include:

· Managing the development team, including but not limited to;

· Managing diagnostic and resolution of high priority issues.

· Technical operations, including code certification and maintaining quality standards

· Conducting Design Reviews and vetting technical recommendations

· Oversight and participation in Technical Scoping and Discovery

· Ultimately responsible for quality of development deliverables

· Mentoring new hires

· Planning and preparing for new projects, including requirements analysis, solution architecture and monitoring of development team execution.

· Working closely with the project management staff to ensure that the projects are being conducted in a manner consistent with best practices from a development perspective.

· Co-ordinationing with the Operations Director to forecast upcoming initiatives and identify appropriate resources

· Responsible for maintaining build process and code repository

· Responsible for the creation and maintenance of best practices with regards to development/ code synchronization/ data integrity

· Retain top talents, promote engagement of staff towards the company, decrease staff turnover, and support the recruitment process

· Participate and contribute to the Nurun IT Committee

Requirement, Skills and Competencies

· Undergraduate university degree in Computer Science; Master or other graduate degree considered an asset

· Excellent understanding of digital solutions: requirements gathering and analysis, solutions architecture and development, as well as knowledge of best practices and processes

· Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the area of web development and architecture

· Minimum 5 years of experience working with the Microsoft .NET technologies

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in eCommerce

· Experience with PHP and Java considered strong asset

· Experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of digital projects

· Experience working within a digital agency

Second half of 2012 Objectives:

· Support the establishment of technology practice leaders in the Shanghai Office for backend PHP development, backend .NET development, frontend development and other technologie that will be identified during the year. Help those practice leaders in their daily work to achieve their goals.

· Put in place good internal and external training programs inside the organization for technical resources.

· Actively participate in Nurun IT Global Committee, (conference calls meetings) or or in person meetings,

· Work with technology practice leaders to put in place clear quality standards in the agency for technical work.?

· Put in place a strong QA service with support from QA experts of the Nurun network.

· Support the Director of Operations in the set up of the global process for project and maintenance management.
