SUMMARY

The primary result expected from the Buyer will be identifying manufacturing needs, identifying suppliers, and arranging delivery. The Buyer will monitor materials and supplies and participate in our quality control process. The Buyer must communicate with co-workers and supervisors to solve process and product problems and accurately record information.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Locate and evaluate new and/or existing suppliers basing on customer requirements.
2. Arrange, sample and test trial orders following Company guidelines.
3. Prepare material specifications based on the customer requirements (flow chart, dimension, material characters and performance etc.)
4. Utilize the relevant software and hardware to measure the material specification and make the communications with suppliers.
5. Arrange sample testing based on the customer request.
6. Perform Supplier Evaluation.
7. Maintain new product development and continuous supplier development.
8. Manage all supplier quality, cost and lead times with documented improvement goals.
9. Proficient with ERP Systems.
10. Provide direction to Assistant Buyer.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Knowledge of materials, market trends, related product information such as competitors, government regulations, and realted technology and new products.
2. Familiarity with polyester, non woven, cotton and knowedge in dying processes, coating and chemical treatments.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Familiarity with fabric cost structure and manufacturing processes.
2. Knowledge of ERP Systems.
3. Familiarity with Formal Quality Sytems.
4. Honest with high responsibility level.
5. The position normally requires 5 years of textile industry experience.
6. Travel is required.
