Z-Ben Advisors is a Shanghai-based research and strategy consulting firm, focusing on China's investment management industry. We are currently accepting applications for Investment Solution – Fund Research Analyst.
Z-Ben Advisors’ Investment Solution – Junior Fund Research Analyst will aid primary responsibility identifying, screening, researching, analyzing, and monitoring fund managers (foreign and Chinese) and fund performance in the A-share market. Face institutional investors to assess their investment needs. Develop research reports on potential investment manager candidates for institutional clients. Prepare reports on specific investment opportunities in different strategies or asset classes. Our staff will provide support and coaching. Responsibilities
1. Primary responsibility will be manager selection: identifying, screening, researching, analyzing, and monitoring fund managers (foreign and Chinese) and fund performance in the A-share market.
2. Analysis of performance data and various quantitative studies on funds
3. Implement qualitative analysis such as face to face interaction with fund managers on investment style and ideas
4. Evaluate investment management companies
5. Perform Manager Due Diligence (Onsite & RFP implementation)
6. Perform manager monitoring to gauge performance and operations remain consistent
7. Conduct peer group analysis that aids the on-going monitoring of current investments as well as the evaluation of prospective investments
8. Face institutional investors to assess their investment needs
9. Aid in designing specific portfolios for institutional clients based on their investment needs
10. Manager sourcing: networking with other investors and industry participants to generate new manager investment ideas for our various portfolios
11. Develop research reports on potential investment manager candidates for institutional clients
12. Prepare reports on specific investment opportunities in different strategies or asset classes

Requirements
1. Business level fluency in English and Mandarin (inclusive of writing and reading) required
2. 1-2 years’ work experience in the investment management industry and with significant experience meeting with and investing in fund management products
3. Extensive knowledge of financial markets with a proven track record in fund investments
4. Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
5. Ability to face institutional investors
6. Excellent quantitative reasoning abilities and experience with statistical methods
7. Expert-level Excel skills
8. Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
9. Ability and desire to learn about a wide range of investment strategies
10. High integrity and extremely strong work ethic
11. Strong academic background with a degree in Finance, Economics or a similarly quantitative subjects
12. Previous experience with fund research analysis a plus
13. Bachelors mandatory , MBA/CFA preferred
