Z-Ben Advisors is a Shanghai-based research and strategic consulting firm, focusing on China’s investment management industry. We are currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Associate.

The Sr. Associate is a senior member of the consulting team, and will work directly with the Director of Consulting in managing and executing upon key elements of the consulting practice. The Sr. Associate will serve as a project manager on external client projects, overseeing all aspects of project management, research & analysis, solutions & recommendations development, deliverable creation, and delivery to the client. The Sr. Associate will also contribute to client relationship management under guidance by the Director of Consulting.

Prior knowledge of and experience in China’s investment management industry is a plus, but not a requirement for this position. More importantly, the Sr. Associate must be able to work creatively and independently, with general guidance from the Director, to fully execute upon external client projects. As a senior member of the Consulting team, the Sr. Associate will also be expected to support team development through skills training, informal guidance, and mentoring. The Sr. Associate will also be expected to support internal business development and business platform development initiatives on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities

1. Manage external client projects, and all aspect of solutions & recommendations delivery
2. Contribute to managing relationships with key client accounts
3. Develop team members to improve overall capabilities and skills of the team
3. Research and analyze important industry, capital market and regulatory trends to develop oneself as an expert in the Chinese investment management industry
4. Create, improve upon, and implement Z-Ben Advisors’ quantitative, qualitative, and consulting methodologies
5. Identify and pursue business development opportunities with senior management
6. Contribute to overall firm business platform development initiatives

Requirements

1. Minimum BA/BS with outstanding academic credentials
2. Professional fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English
3. 4+ years of prior experience in strategy/management consulting at a major firm, or in investment management industry
4. Project management experience leading teams of at least 2-3 people
5. Working towards CFA & other industry accreditation is a plus
6. Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
