Quality Control Inspector

Intro:
We are a UK based importer and distributor who are rapidly expanding with over 20 years of experience sourcing in China, with over 5,000 employees globally.

We supply high volume products to the discount sector in Europe with a Buying & Sourcing office in XuHui District, Shanghai and are looking for 1 QC Inspector to join our team on a full time basis.

Job Description:
*On the job training provided on customised management system, reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager
*Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality by on-site vendor inspections and investigations
*Conduct “spot-checks” on purchased products at supplier’s location within China
*Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives
*Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures
*Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Company
*Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased products

Education/Experience Required:
*Minimum B.S. degree from reputable university
*Minimum 2 years’ experience (preferably within reputable testing house), dealing with European safety standards and product regulations required for a diverse range of products (preferably UK regulations for products)
*Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
*Computer proficiency essential

Person Specification:
*Responsible – Have a very strong sense of duty and accountability
*Ability to work under pressure and to meet vital deadlines
*Willing to work occasional late evenings and travel across China to inspect goods at vendor locations
*Methodical – Have a perfect understanding of the supply chain and organize itself to meet all the requirements in a timely and cost effective manner
*Self-motivated and highly energetic
*Excellent (not ‘very good’) English and Chinese skills (oral, reading and writing)
