Senior Electrical (Power Generation) Engineer (PMC)
Location:
Beijing. May be required for frequent visits to Dubai and Halfaya site Iraq.
Job Purpose:
To carry out compliance reviews of third party documentation as part of a Clients PMC
Accountabilities:
Key responsibilities of this position include:
? Ensure that designs produced by third parties are, consistent with the Project Specifications and good practice;
? Review of MR, technical bid evaluation, recommendation & Vendor drawing review;
? Review of design basis, philosophies, equipment selection, studies/reports and recommendations;
? Design reviews for Power generation, Overhead Transmission Lines, HV (66kV)/MV/LV Electrical distribution systems and switchgear , Substation automation/SCADA system;
? Review of specifications & data sheets for HV/MV/ LV Switchgear, Transformer, Motor, Generator, Switchyard equipment, etc.;
? Effective communications and co-ordinations with other team members to ensure mutual awareness of requirements and sharing of information and common resources;
? Interaction and coordination with Client, PMT/PMC, Vendor Subcontractor and satellite offices; Respond to Site Technical Clarifications as required;
? Attend routine meetings as required to report on specific Project issues. Participate in workshops, design reviews;
? Review major change orders from EPC contractors as required by the Discipline lead.
Experience:
Key requirements and qualifications of this position
? Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and certificate from a recognized authority for work with HV systems.
? 8+ years’ experience in Oil and Gas upstream industry involving design, planning, checking, general management and supervisory responsibility. At least 2 years in a Senior Electrical Engineer PMC role or with an EPC company;
? Knowledge of various Codes & Standards, IEE, ATEX, API, NFPA requirements;
? Experience in ETAP and 3D modeling review is must;
? Must have excellent communication skills essential for Client, Interdisciplinary and Vendor coordination, and coordination with other work-share offices;
? Good communication skills in written and spoken English.
