Job Purpose
The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and executing the market risk frameworks, standards, policies and methodologies governing Global Markets’ activities covering the trading and banking books at Shanghai branch.
Key Responsibility
-Responsible for the reviewing of market risk management framework and policies to measure and control all aspects of market risk for Trading and Banking Book covering the following key products:
*Foreign Exchange
*Money Market Instruments
*Capital Market Instruments
*Derivatives(all categories)
*Combination of the above/Structured Products
-Conduct the surveillance of Treasury activities to ensure governance with the approved parameters for Trading and Banking Book.
-Conduct the reporting of market risk exposures arising from Treasury activities
-Drive the implementation of market risk systems at the centre
-Strategic implementation and alignment
-Responsible for the functional sign-off of new treasury products after reviewing the risk embedded in the products.
-To decide on the materiality of detected compliance irregularities and to present findings and recommendations to Head, Regional Market Risk & Branch Management that can result in disciplinary action taken against relevant staff.
-To recommend and decide on appropriateness of all quantitative and qualitative recommendations and escalate to GCRM for concurrence.
-To develop appropriate implementation plans for change management and chart out milestones based on market and business intelligence on financial and regulatory developments.
-To train, develop and manage a pool of staff with knowledge and skills pertaining to the functions undertaken by GCRM.
-To decide on resource allocation, performance evaluation and management of the relevant risk staff
Qualification
Level of Education: At least Bachelor Degrees
Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years working experience in related areas either Treasury or Risk Management
Discipline/Related Field: Banking, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Accountancy
Competencies
Functional - Have strong analytical skills and some knowledge of Treasury products.
Leadership - As per Bank's approved leadership model stipulated in Group Human Capital's policy
