Position/Job Description:

The Commodity manager for the assigned commodity is part of the global commodity team. The commodity team is responsible for quality, delivery, cost efficiency and sustainability of the direct material commodity supply throughout the product lifecycle on a global level. The Commodity manager supports to the Commodity purchasing manager China in sourcing and commodity management providing analytical and administrative support on a global or regional level (as assigned).

Essential Duties:

? Manage supplier relationships to drive supplier performance, contract effectiveness,

collaboration and integration and deliver improved result. Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key vendors within the commodity with the objective of reducing costs and eliminating inefficiencies

? Build and maintain relationships with internal functions within purchasing, such as

Advanced / OEM Purchasing and Supplier Quality Assurance and Development. Ensure commodity strategy is communicated to relevant parties across purchasing functions. Ensure commodity strategy and supplier capacity is aligned to new development plans

? Build and maintain relationships with internal customers and other functions to ensure continuous improvement and that service level commitments are met.

? Drive demand management to optimize lifecycle cost

? Conduct PPV activities, budgeting (including PPV and OMV), and annual price

negotiations as well as LCC initiatives

Preferred qualifications:

Education:

? Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, engineering or other relevant discipline - or equivalent

? Preferred: Master’s Degree and recognized qualification in Purchasing

Experience:

? Minimum 10 years of purchasing experience, preferably in commodity management positions

? Experience of the specific commodity steel, packaging and other metal

? Leadership and change management experience in of advantage

Languages:

? Fluency in English is required (written and oral)

? Fluency in additional languages, e.g. German or other language, is an advantage

Also, the factory has developed a direct business-to-business relationship with OEM customers located primarily in USA and Europe.
