Job description
The Senior Analog Design Engineer will lead in the architectural and transistor-level design and implementation of CMOS mixed signal ICs. The candidate will contribute at many levels of the development cycle including systems design, architectural design, circuit design, verification, layout, and debugging.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities:
? Determines design approaches and parameters for Analog / Mixed-signal system and circuit design
? Prepares schematic entry, simulation, modeling, verification, layout, lab evaluation of the design and documentation
? Ensures the designs for manufacture are affordable for production
? Architects, designs and verifies circuits, logic, systems, algorithms, etc. to meet product requirements
? Develops innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secret
? Demonstrates good judgment in solving a broad range of issues, based on an advanced understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
? Responsible for custom layout, including overseeing the work of layout designers
? Conducts evaluation of design results by laboratory measurements of ICs
? Reports on design results through design reviews, in accordance with company quality requirements and resolves action items generated as a result of these reviews
? Attends design reviews to provide input and learn from other designers experiences
? Researches design techniques through technical publications and seminars
? Supports marketing in product definition
? Supports efficient test program development
? Supports product engineering to meet manufacturing/production needs
? Supports applications engineering to meet customer needs
? Interacts with internal and external personnel
Education and Experience;
? PhD or MSEE with at least 6 years of experience in IC development
? Advanced understanding of engineering fundamentals
? Clear understanding of signal processing and high-level behavioral modeling of Analog functions
? Must have advanced design skills in the following areas
? Opamps, linear and switched capacitor filters
? Bandgap, references, oscillators, charge pump
? Chip ESD protection for single and multi power domain applications
? Must understand noise; 1/f, thermal, quantization, digital
? Must understand charge-redistribution circuit topologies
? Must have a good understanding of device physics and CMOS fabrication processes
? Must have good understanding of layout tradeoffs for optimal performance and size
? Good communication and organization skills
? Familiarity with quality systems documentation and procedures
? Competency in design tools and laboratory measurement skills
