HSBC Technology and Services (HTS) is a pivotal part of the Group, providing essential operational and technical support to our global businesses and helping improve customer service and efficiency. HTS combines global expertise and technology to help keep us ahead of the competition. As part of HTS, the China Corporate Real Estate (CRE) function provides professional property and technical advice to HSBC entities in China on matters such as the development of property strategies, portfolio rationalization, purchase and sale of property, technical requirements, engagement of consultants and CSR including fire and safety issues.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the CRE team as Head of Corporate Real Estate, GR & GLT China.
In this role, you will:
? Reporting to the Head of Corporate Real Estate China, the individual has direct responsibility for the delivery of a full range of Facilities, Property and Project Management services, across the portfolio of Global Service Centres (GR) and Global Technology Centre (GLT) in the country. The role works with a number of significant external supplier partnerships as well as the property professionals from country and local CRE team.
? The role is to ensure that real estate is a key business enabler, through the delivery of innovative and forward thinking initiatives relating to the portfolio and which support GR/GLT’s business needs across Portfolio Optimisation, Capital Project and Workplace, Facility Management, Critical Facilities, Estate Management, Risk Management and Sustainability.
? To provide leadership support in respect of the real estate portfolio within GR/GLT to ensure that the portfolio is actively and efficiently managed and capable of supporting the changing needs of the business going forward.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
Knowledge/Qualifications
· Qualification in real estate related subject and/or business, economics, finance, project management.
· Strong level of business awareness, financial/budget management expertise and team management and engagement skills within a corporate structure or similar.
· A comprehensive understanding of a broad range of real estate activities and issues A thorough understanding of the country and practices
· Comprehensive understanding of how corporates operate, key challenges faced in the operating environment. High degree of expertise and knowledge in relation to vendor or facilities management within a real estate context
· High degree of expertise and knowledge in relation to analysis of vendor businesses including finances and customer base
· Strong awareness and understanding of HSBCs internal control and operational risk environment
Experience
· A proven track record in leading and implementing real estate solutions within a corporate environment.
· An experienced real estate professional with a significant experience gained from Facilities and Project Management within a corporate environment
· Proven ability to manage a large range of stakeholders and external consultants/contractors to drive best performance.
· Proven ability and commitment to high standards or customer service and customer relationship management
· Demonstrated results in managing a medium portfolio of vendors / supplier base
· Demonstrated results in delivering successful risk management and control processes across multiple functions
Skills
· Ability to work independently, interact with senior professionals within the Bank and with service providers.
· Strong organisational, planning and management skills
· Strong business and commercial awareness
· Proactive and resilient in a dynamic and constantly changing international environment.
· Strong collaboration and networking abilities to effectively work with other colleagues and departments within the bank
· Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively
· Highly adaptable and be able to work in a dynamic working environment with a strong drive and be able to work under pressure
· Ability to navigate the Corporate Real Estate functions through change in the organization both strategically and operationally
· Role model and advocate for HSBC, acting at all times in a way that complies with the bank’s code of conduct, ethics, and stance on bribery
· Good command of oral and written English and Chinese (Putonghua).
