-From our IC Sector, Smart Grid division, we are looking for a BPL PLM in Shanghai.Present function will be located in Communication Network Solutions group, which is part of newly formed Smard Grid Unit within Siemens Division Infrastructure and Cities. Smart Grid communication is one of the key enablers to interlink Energy equipment such as RTU’s and intelligent Meters between each other and with a central administration center. A Smart Grid communication network will base on all present communication technologies such as SDH, IP, Powerline communication, Wireless communication.

Mission / Goal:
Smart Grid Communication Solutions – solution architect, technical sales and engineering group acts as partner of IC SG CN Sales units, Project Management, Service. Furthermore Technical Sales supports other Energy and Industry units, which require communication solutions in their networks. Technical Sales forms part within the complete sales process and provides optimized communication solution within Smart Grid Energy networks.

In detail SC Technical Sales/Engineering fulfills the following tasks

-Development of Smart Grid communication solutions for the Chinese market
-On Site presentations of Smart Grid communication networks
-Engineering of backbone and backhaul networks
-Technical sales support within the complete sales process
-Project management
-Commissioning service
-Working partners / Contacts:
-Internal: SC Sales, project management and service, product management, Joint venture partner SMSC
-External: SC equipment provider customers and consultants

What are my responsibilities?

-Develop Smart Grid communication end-to-end solutions with focus on wireline communication (IP, Powerline communication)
-Product promotion and push market roll out of backhaul/access communication solutions in medium and low voltage power level
-Regional product life cycle management in close relation with headquarter
-Engineering of powerline
-Technical sales support within the complete sales process
-Project management
-Supervision and commissioning service
-Interact with Energy Automation and Smart Grid Applications to ensure interoperability
-Present solutions to customers, sales staff and other Energy units
-Partner management with equipment providers (focus technical aspects)
-Knowledge transfer within Siemens and to external partner

What do I need quality this position?
-Bachelor or university degree (including FH) in communication / electrical engineering technology

-Knowledge in MV/LV switchgears and grid configurations, with strong affinity to communication technologies

-Hands on experience in LV /MV grids

-Expert knowhow in wireline communication technologies ( IP, Powerline)

-Analogue / High frequency technology

-Fluent in English language (speaking, writing); German beneficial

-Knowledge in Wireless technologies will be beneficial

-CCNA-Design certification will be beneficial

-Minimum 5 years of experience in designing communication networks or MV/LV powergrids for Telco’s and Energy utilities. Minimum 2 years of experience in communication/ power network solution development. Having done this for power utilities will be beneficial. Experience in working with MV/LV vendors or NSN, Huawei, Cisco, Juniper, RuggedCom or Alcatel, Fiberhome, ZTE and other communication equipment providers.
