Mageba is a leading, internationally active company with HQ in Switzerland. We have production and sales facilities in various locations, among which our subsidiary and regional HQ in Shanghai (100% owned by Mageba Switzerland, and with Swiss management). Our leading products and services include bearings, expansion joints, seismic devises and structural health monitoring systems for bridges, buildings and other structures. The company is on a healthy and dynamic growth path. In order to better satisfy the challenging demands of our Asian clients, we are seeking for our subsidiary in Shanghai a:

Technical Director:

Your duties and responsibilities:

Your range of duties will be varied and challenging. Duties will include leading and planning the engineering and design team in Shanghai, providing innovative and cost effective design solutions for tenders and projects, supervising structural calculations according to international design codes, coordinating technical issues with other group companies and our HQ in Switzerland, and providing technical support to other departments in our Shanghai subsidiary. You will be assigned higher-level duties in the areas of research and development. You will also be expected to contribute to the overall development of our company.

Our requirements:

Our ideal candidate: 35 - 45 years old, fully qualified structural engineer (e.g. technical university degree, either M.Sc. or Ph.D.), a minimum of 5 years professional experience in a similar leading position (must be familiar with construction field in Asia, ideally bridge or steel construction industry), experience in working for an international company, motivated and competent at solving complex technical tasks in a timely and success-orientated manner, entrepreneurial, strong organizing ability, quick learning, hard-working and able to work under pressure, proficient in using state-of-the art design and engineering software, must be proficient in Chinese and English.
