Role Summary/Purpose

The Integrated Avionics Systems Staff Engineer will demonstrate leadership by developing and communicating the plan & processes and setting technical direction to a team responsible for integrating avionic subsystems to develop, verify, and certify an integrated aircraft platform. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term & long-term business goals.


Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:
· Interface with customers, partner companies, suppliers, and other senior leadership within the company
· Work as part of an integrated multi-company Avionics and Sub-System development team to define, develop, verify, and certify an integrated systems solution
· Provide cost account management for integrated systems work
· Document and execute Avionics and Sub-system integration plans that are ARP-4754 compliant
· Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as subsystem avionics product groups and third party suppliers
· Provide technical support for the certification process for aircraft systems
· Lead activities such as failure investigations, root causes analysis & implementation of corrective actions, lesson learned, issues, and design standards update
· Lead efforts in aircraft avionics systems integration, verification, and validation
· Provide engineering support, within one's specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction, and quality initiatives
· Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
· Develop and implement training modules as necessary
· Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
· Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
· Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
· Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews


Qualifications/Requirements

· Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
· Minimum 5 years of technical experience in Avionics Systems design and development for commercial aircraft
· Minimum 3 year of experience in dealing with customers and suppliers on an engineering development program
· Fluent in English and Mandarin


Desired Characteristics

· Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
· Experience in avionics systems definition, design, integration, verification, and project scheduling
· Familiarity with the operational aspects of aircraft navigation and guidance systems
· Prior experience working as a member of an integrated engineering development team
· Experience in sub-system requirements definition for avionics such as flight management systems, on-board maintenance systems, integrated modular avionics computing platforms and cockpit voice & data recorder systems
· Experience using models to simulate and validate the system design and architecture
· Experience with ARINC 661 and ARINC 653 development standards
· Experience with DO-178B, DO-254, DO-297, and ARP-4754 certification standards
· Ability to engage and build positive relationships with customers and internal & external employees
· Solid oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Ability to guide and influence others
· Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
