SUMMARY OF JOB: You will be part of Our Application Engineering Team for GCN. This team of highly motivated employees provide engineering services to design and build 3 phase power systems & solutions for customer’s critical environment. This position is responsible for providing in-depth engineering support for standard our products as well as ancillary products (custom designed 3rd party systems) in projects from opportunity phase to project completion. This includes understanding customer requirement, designing 3rd party products, providing product engineering drawings & documentation support, specification clarification & technical support, specify for the product adaptation team the requirements, FAT support, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

? Understand needs of project through request from sales & customer engagement teams.
? Provide high level of engineering support for our standard products.
? Understanding customer requirement & specify for the product adaptation requirements to the ETO team.
? Provide product application engineering support through right configuration selection, identifying & highlighting any application issues, providing solution for customized product application requirement, etc.
? The engineering support includes areas of UPS, batteries, electrical panels, cables, power distribution products, transfer switches, transformers, generators, power monitoring solutions, breakers and other electrical components.
? Understand the products through design, specification, applicable standards, configuration, application, operations, management, drawings, etc to provide fast and accurate response to field sales teams in support of customer queries.
? Create engineering design details (specs, drawings, installation instructions, operation documents, etc) for adapted our or third party products and solutions.
? Provide competitor product information & analysis to highlight limitations and advise on winning arguments against competitor features & benefits wherever applicable.
? Create & provide standard engineering configuration tools to field team for faster response to customer.
? Identify & qualify vendors for 3rd party products & solutions.
? Design the custom designed electrical panels & systems required for project, to be engineered & manufactured by 3rd party.
? Create total Bill of Material for 3rd party products & solutions with detailed costing.
? Write & publish comparative application notes for regional audiences, including argument & support of our solutions against competitors.
? Participate in a continuing education program designed to update and renew knowledge on technology and engineering.
? Respond to our and 3rd party product engineering support issues escalated from field teams.
? Ensure highest quality standards for all third party products & solutions
? Identify the risks in our adapted product offers & create the risk mitigation plans together with ETO team.
? Manage the standard 3rd party product & solution development as program manager.
? Provide technical support for FAT during sales phase through documentation & technical support as well as support during actual FAT at factory.
? Participate in new product development process to make sure that the product meets the local market requirement as well as gain in-depth understanding of new products.
? Provide engineering support to Product Management & Marketing & assist with competitive analysis as well as any in-depth technical training support during product launches.
? Provide feedback to vendors and R+D engineers with recommendations for improvements to the solutions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION – MINIMUN REQUIRED LEVEL:

? Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED:

? 7-10 yrs or more experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent in critical power systems
? 3-4 years of interaction with customers in a pre-sales/sales environment is desirable.
? Good Knowledge in Micro Soft Office applications, Lotus Notes, Siebel, Micro soft Viso, Micro soft Project, (AUTO CAD-Desired, but not essential) & network related knowledge/skills etc.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

? Good command in English
? Written - ability to communicate in a clear & concise manner with internal & external customers.
? Social & Verbal - ability to communicate with internal & external customers via computer, telephone or in person in an intelligent & professional demeanour.
? Strong team player to execute on projects & achieve higher customer satisfaction
? Strong working knowledge on power systems design for critical applications
? Understanding of applicable local codes & standards in GCN market
? Handles multiple & conflicting priorities and effectively prioritizes tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
? Ability to understand the existing processes, improve the current process & innovate new processes to meet the business needs for region
? Detail oriented & able to meet deadlines
? Strong problem solving skills
? Ability to work both independently & as part of a team
? Fast & effective at dealing with difficult situations
