Job Description:

Be responsible for all data analysis preparation and support work for the consumer pricing actuaries and business analytics(APAC Auto, Property and Personal Accident, and US Auto and Property specifically)

Key Measuring Parameters:

* Spearhead effective data collection - by being the voice of analysis data users on:1) New products;2 ) New Systems; 3) Updates to data processes

* Reconcile analysis data and maintain analysis data integrity Preparing and scrubbing data for model building

* Ensure analysis data complies with all data policies, governance, and standards

* Maintain definitions and standards for data analysis and work to have data issues remediated

* Creation of preformatted actuarial databases for analysis

* Maintain and distribute structured data and actuarial reports to actuarial and business analytics users and explain/interpret content

* Sourcing new data for actuaries to analyze from inside and outside of AIG

* Developing and tracking pricing actuarial analytics (indications, actual rate changes, etc)

* Working with EDM, Operations, and others to improve or automate data processes

* Participate in global data initiative as needed

* Review accuracy, consistency and applicability of department data usage. Work with data suppliers to ensure accuracy and ease of translation to appropriate formats.

* Maintain accurate documentation of all work suitable for compliance examiners to audit. Inform management of limitations of work, data constraints, as well as potential adverse and favorable events

* Participate in global data initiative and projects as needed

Requirements:

Leadership Skills

1. Strong execution and results orientation;

2. Strong communication (oral and written) and influencing skills and demonstrated ability to work across interdisciplinary teams that are geographically dispersed;

3. Ability to identify issues and work to resolve them in partnership with business leaders

Technical Skills and Expertise

1. Master or Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics or other quantitative field

2. Good Knowledge of relational database, such as MS SQL, Oracle DB or MySQL, and advanced skills in SQL query development and performance tuning.

3. Minimum 4 years of experience with data analysis and preparation, including experience with very large data sets preferred; experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) tools, data conversion processes, and/or SAS programming skills a plus.

4. Experience in insurance industry and/or data model design preferred

5. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

6. Strong process & systems skills and attention to detail
