Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be a professional with an experienced background in various life and annuity products, database and business intelligence platforms, computer programming (ideally SQL) and experience studies
1. Facilitate quantitative analyses for the AIG Mortality & Morbidity Center of Excellence (MMCOE)
2. Collect, review, and analyze data for quarterly experience studies or special projects
3. Provide analytical support with respect to aspects of insurance product mortality, longevity, and morbidity experience, underwriting analytics, and claims analytics with the Life, Property & Casualty, and International lines.
4. Support AIG Global Actuarial & Value Management (GAVM) with various life actuarial specialty projects. Provide sound analysis and recommendations to management for business decisions
5. Validate and document models/ processes according to corporate standards
6. Assist in the implementation of an Experience Study Data Warehouse Environment (Mortality Studies, Termination Studies, and Premium Persistency Studies) in developing actionable information for use by MMCOE.
7. Continually seek process improvement and automation for all areas of actuarial management reporting and processes that the team supports
8. Continually enhance processes for more timely and robust studies
9. Gain knowledge about company operations, systems and actuarial methodologies
10. Interact with various functional life insurance areas: Actuarial, Underwriting, Reinsurance, Finance, Claims and IT
11. Time management skills to optimize use of resources and focus on top priorities
12. Provide actuarial support for items not handled by the admin system

Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree or higher in one of the following areas: Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Economics, Computer Programming
2. 2+ actuarial exams (Society of Actuaries) preferred.
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English necessary to document and communicate key findings;
4. Good interpersonal skill, strong sense of responsibility and ability to work with limited supervision.
5. Experience working with and implementing large database management systems is a plus. SQL server and/or Microsoft Access.
6. Modeling software a plus i.e. MoSes, Prophet
7. Strong data management and data mining skills
8. Understanding of Life Insurance business and products, including insurance risks and actuarial concepts
