Role Summary/Purpose

The Principle systems engineer works consistently in practical and innovative ways towards defined goals. In this role you will be responsible for civil avionics system integration, verification and validation, utilize your experience or expertise to give guidance, conduct avionics system integration and verification/validation activities and solve problems.

Essential Responsibilities

• Participate in team responsible for the execution avionics integration of assigned projects, using sound engineering principles and adhering to avionics standards, practices, procedures, and product / system requirements.
• Demonstrate accountability for team goals and objectives.
• Provides guidance, coaching, and technical direction in system integration scope.
• Recommend approaches to meet the technical and system integration requirements.
• Assist in the formulation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements, estimate budgets and track costs of projects, and is accountable for meeting project budget and schedule targets.
• Resolve and track problems during systems integration and verification
• Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
• Develop technical understanding and skills. Execute the projects with compliance with system engineering process.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college in engineering or equivalent level of knowledge or experience.
• Minimum of 15 years of proven experience of avionics product development experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of civil avionics system experience.
• Experiences with ARP4754A, DO-4761, DO-297.
• Experiences with Integrated Modular Avionics(IMA) Platform, ARINC653, ARINC664, ARINC429, and related aviation standards

Desired Characteristics

• Master’s degree from an accredited university or college
• Project scheduling and budget estimation experience
• Ability to understand and implement customer and aviation standards
• Proven record of successful development project execution
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Aircraft Systems engineering experience with a FAR Part 25 aircraft
• Capable of using modeling and simulation tools to model and validate complex systems solutions.
• Familiarity with system certification processes and management of teamwork with processes
• Experience leading International teams
• Six Sigma training
• English and Chinese language fluency is highly desirable
