Position Summary:
Develop laboratory plastic ware/glass ware/ healthcare supply base and strategy for Thermo Fisher Asia Sourcing Group. Lead assigned projects to successful completion by utilizing Strategic Sourcing Process, Supplier Quality Plan and Process Improvement tools to achieve predefined project goal within committed timeline. Drive year over year cost reduction for completed projects, drive lean supply chain initiatives and build up long term relationships with strategic suppliers.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
? Understand demand market as well as the supply market, keep close track of industrial trend, analyze the impact, and provide suggestions in support of management decision making.
? Investigate target supply market, conduct supplier capability analysis, and make recommendation for the best interest of the company.
? Liaison with internal customer sites to understand customer requirements, participate in initial project launch stage, provide support in developing the project launch package.
? Develop project schedule, key elements include: savings target, stakeholders, milestone, and timeline. Take the ownership to drive the project to a successful completion.
? Lead the RFI/RFQ process, conduct supplier audit with the support of supplier quality team, evaluate supplier proposal by using Total Cost of Ownership model.
? Participate actively in the ASQP process (Advance Supplier Quality Plan), provide support to supplier quality team wherever appropriate to ensure First Article pass rate.
? Participate in developing terms and conditions of the sourcing agreement; negotiate in good faith under the guideline of the company policies and procedures.
? Support product transition process upon project completion. Submit necessary system data uploading applications; liaison with internal customer site, order processing team and supplier to ensure smooth handover of the product.
? Drive year over year cost reduction program to achieve the overall departmental goal, renew sourcing agreements, and keep close watch of supplier performance.
? Utilize process improvement tools and Lean concept wherever appropriate to improve supply chain efficiency.
Other Job Requirements:
? Up to 30% travel may be required, as necessary to transact business at supplier locations.
Educational Qualifications:
? B.E. in Plastic/Glass or Mechanical engineering is prefered.
Experience Qualifications:
? 5 years experience in Sourcing/Purchasing preferably with the experience of serving multiple oversea sites.
? Experience (minimum of 3 years) in laboratory plastic ware/healthcare or plastic blow/injection molding is required.
? Understand the manufacturing process and critical factors for assigned responsibilities.
? Quality system and regulatory knowledge to the assigned commodity.
? Good analytical skills (identify, analyze and resolve problems).
? Experience in World Class supply chain methodologies and Continuous Improvement processes.
? Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to effectively interact with multiple organizational units.
? Demonstrated track record for improving supplier performance and reducing material cost.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills, must be proficient in English languages
? Experience in interpreting technical documentation (drawing and specifications) is prefered.
