Major Job Accountabilities

Area of responsibility - overview

  • Provide high-quality service and thorough explanations to internal and external customers
  • Ensuring SFDC and/or Service Desk tickets and questions are researched and answered in a thorough, timely and proper manner.
  • Prompt action to all fault calls and resolve them as quickly as possible to minimize customer impact.
  • Perform upgrade and maintenance on the platforms across the Asia Pacific region
  • Ensure the uptime and health of the audio conferencing bridges which will allow contracted SLA's to be met
  • Mentor and participate in training of team members to up skill team
  • Act as escalation point and show leadership to newer team members
  • Add to the Internal knowledge base and wiki sites with appropriate information including bridge specifics and details
  • When required follow up on quality or carrier issues relating to the conferencing platform such as voice quality issues, bridge issues and numbers not working
  • Understanding changing requirements of organization and being able to adapt

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Incumbents will be expected to master the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform this job.

Knowledge

  • Cisco Call Manager, Unity voice mail systems, or
  • AT&T DDM 1000 DS3 or Alactel Lucent MUX, or Optivity telephony manager,
  • Digital multiplexing, Digital cross-connect systems, or
  • Voice switching systems such as TDM, ATM, and VOIP, or
  • Telecommunications transmission systems, DS1 and DS3 test practices and equipment, Telecommunications cabling systems and equipment, such as DS0, DS1, DS3, and fiber, or
  • SER predictive dialers, Voice-over IP equipment and technologies,
  • Avaya S8700, S8300, G600, G650, G700, Intuity, Definity, or
  • Radisys CMS Media Server (or any media server), or
  • Sonus Media Gateway (or any media gateway), or
  • Nortel CS2100 or CS2000, or any IVR experience, or
  • Sonus, Audiocodes or any other SBC's. and/or
  • Windows, Linux, Unix operating system and/or Cisco IOS knowledge.

Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel required. Ability to respond to incidents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Avaya Certification/engineering experience, Avaya Certification / Implementation Specialist, Avaya Certification Associate, Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) would be an advantage.

Experience

Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant working experience

Good understanding of the China Telecommunications industry e.g. China UniCom, China Telecoms or China Mobile.

Other

Able to work overtime / late hours if required
May need to work during weekends and public holidays if required


Self starting and actively taking initiative on issues with systems
Willingness to learn, to share knowledge
